Audioslave, the combination of former Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell and the musicians from Rage Against the Machine, has proven to be as potent as fans had anticipated. The group has made noise by releasing a pair of powerhouse albums, 2003's multi-platinum self-titled debut and 2005's chart-topping Out of Exile, which have spawned hits including "Cochise," "I am the Highway," "Be Yourself," and "Doesn't Remind Me." Audioslave made history in 2005 when it became the first American band to conquer a trade embargo and play a concert on the island of Cuba, pounding out an epic one-and-a-half hour show in front of 60,000 fans. Jonathan Larson's stirring, Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent moved audiences on Broadway and around the world with its heartbreaking tale of love, life, and death in the grit of bohemian New York. Based on Puccini's opera La Boheme, the story follows a group of friends living in the city's East Village. The starving artists struggle to find success, meaning, and enough money to pay the rent in the face of poverty, illness, and the AIDS virus. At the center of the story are roommates Mark (Anthony Rapp), a filmmaker, and Roger (Adam Pascal), a former drug addict who's now an HIV-positive musician. Mark decides to make a movie that measures out a year in the life in this powerful story.

Blink 182 debuted in 1994 with the album Cheshire Cat, released on an indie label. The group rocketed to stardom three years later with their major-label debut Dude Ranch, which went platinum with help from the hit "Dammit." The band's catchy pop-punk hooks and smart-alec sense of humor made them an MTV favorite. After a decade-long romp during which they sold millions of albums and stirred up a rabid fanbase, Blink called it quits in early 2005. Despite the best efforts of teachers and principals to teach them the three Rs, the students at Vince Lombardi High School only love two: rock and roll! The music-crazed student body has driven many a principal to a rock-related nervous breakdown. Music-hating new principal Miss Evelyn Togar (Mary Woronov) has vowed to put an end to the madness. She bands together with a group of parents who attempt to burn a pile of records. The students, led by Riff Randell (P.J. Soles), revolt and take over the school. Powerhouse punk rockers The Ramones show up (they're Riff's favorite band!). The group becomes honorary students and helps lead the charge against Togar and the rest of the just-don't-get-it grown-ups.

The last recorded performance of late hip-hop great Tupac Shakur captures the legend at his best.
