One day Max's escape into fantasy becomes reality when two of his creations, Sharkboy (a boy raised by great whites!) and LavaGirl (a girl with the force of a volcano!), whisk Max out of his classroom and take him on a rescue mission to outer space. On the way, he's hassled by small-town sheriff Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy), who tells him that drifters aren't welcome. Rambo winds up in jail, where he's ruthlessly harassed by the sheriff's deputies. Hit with a Vietnam flashback, Rambo snaps, escaping into the nearby hills. The local law dogs have no idea what they're up against, as Rambo sinks into the forest, using his well-honed survival skills to defend himself against the sheriff's posse.
